Texas-Pan American beats NJIT 75-67

EDINBURG, Texas (AP) — Brandon Provost scored 15 points, seven on free throws in the final minute as Texas-Pan American beat NJIT 75-67 Thursday night.

Jared Maree added 14 points and Josh Cleveland scored 13 points for the Broncs (10-17, 4-2 Great West), whose three-game winning streak is the school’s longest in three years.

Provost finished 10 of 12 from the free-throw line, where Texas-Pan American was 33 for 45. NJIT made 14 of 17 free throws.

Isaiah Wilkerson had 16 points and nine rebounds to lead NJIT (11-14, 4-4). Lamar Kearse had 13 points and Ryan Woods scored 12 for the Highlanders.

NJIT led throughout the first half until Earl Jefferson made a pair of free throws just before the end of the period to tie the game at 33. Maree’s 3-pointer with 5:25 left put the Broncs ahead for good at 51-49.
