CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — TyShwan Edmondson scored 23 points and Austin Peay dominated the boards to overcome a poor shooting night and rally past Youngstown State 71-68 on Saturday night, snapping a five-game losing streak.
The Governors (10-19) had a 51-32 rebounding advantage. They grabbed 27 offensive boards and scored 29 second-chance points despite 33-percent shooting (22 of 66) in the Bracket Busters game.
The Penguins (14-13), of the Horizon League, led by 10 points early and 47-40 with 13:44 remaining. The Governors, of the Ohio Valley Conference, then went on a 20-7 run to lead by six with 5:54 left.
Youngstown State got within a point twice in the last 19 seconds, but Austin Peay hit 5 of 6 free throws to seal it.
