SEATTLE (AP) — Police divers recovered the body of diver Sunday night off West Seattle.

The Seattle Times reports (http://is.gd/91l1cf ) it was about 200 yards offshore and 80 feet below the surface of Elliott Bay.

Police and fire department divers and the Coast Guard had been searching for a man in his 20s who experienced trouble Sunday morning on a dive with two other divers and a dive instructor.

Seattle Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore says the other divers reported that he appeared to panic and rose too quickly toward the surface.
