RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Cedrick Lindsay made a layup with 16 seconds left and Greg Robbins came up with a clutch block to give Richmond a 53-52 win over Charlotte on Saturday night.

The Spiders (14-14, 5-8 Conference USA) led 51-47 with 5:57 left and Charlotte had four steals, three leading to points, during a 4-0 run.

Pierria Henry, who had three of the takeaways, took the ball from Darien Brothers and was fouled by Kendall Anthony with 1:24 left. Henry then made 1 of 2 free throws for a 52-51 lead.

After Lindsay’s game winner, Javarris Barnett missed a 3-pointer but DeMario Mayfield came down with the offensive board. His would-be game winner was then blocked by Robbins with 1 second to play.

Anthony led Richmond with 17 points and Darrius Garrett had 12 rebounds.

Chris Braswell led the 49ers (12-13, 4-8) with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
