Hiker with injured leg rescued from Ore. beach

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard says it rescued an injured man Sunday night on the beach at Ecola State Park.

The 42-year-old man, who wasn’t identified, was hiking. The Coast Guard says he may have broken his leg and was showing signs of hypothermia. A helicopter lifted him off the beach, and he was taken to a local hospital.
