DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Two more players have pulled out the Dubai Tennis Championships on the second day of the tournament that was hit by a rush of withdrawals Monday.

Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova withdrew due to illness. French Open winner Li Na and Vera Zvonareva also pulled out Monday because of injury.

On Tuesday, Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia retired with a hamstring injury during a match against Iveta Benesova of the Czech Republic. Benesova was leading 3-1 in the first set.

Organizers say Maria Kirilenko of Russia pulled out of the tournament due to a neck injury. Kirilenko advanced to the second round Monday, defeating Monica Niculescu of Romania, 6-3, 6-0.

Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka is the top-seeded player at the Dubai tournament.
