TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State is preparing for what is shaping up as one of the most important games in school history.
The 15th-ranked Seminoles host No. 5 Duke on Thursday in a game that has been sold out for weeks. The two schools, along with No. 7 North Carolina, began the week tied for first place in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Florida State (19-7, 10-2 ACC) has already defeated the Blue Devils (23-4, 10-2) and the Tar Heels, Wake Forest and North Carolina State this season. The Seminoles need a second win over Duke to keep their hopes alive for the school’s first ACC regular season championship and complete its sweep of the four traditional conference powers.
The Seminoles have won 10 of their last 11 games.
