Girls basketball: Skyview 49, Bethel 29

A 19-9 first quarter sent the Storm on their way to the win in Class 4A a bi-district seeding game.

The result means Skyview (23-3) will play third-ranked Lake Stevens (22-1) at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Kent-Meridian High School in the regional round of the state tournament.

Skyview’s defense set the tone on Monday, and the Storm turned several Bethel turnovers into an early lead.

Brook Bowen scored 13 points and Jocelyn Adams 12 for the 4A Greater St. Helens League champions.

Skyview led by 13 points heading into the fourth quarter, and pulled away by holding Bethel to two points in the final eight minutes.
