JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Parker Smith scored a school-record 46 points Monday night to lead North Florida to a 75-66 victory over Mercer.

Smith also tied the record for an Atlantic Sun Conference game and posted this season’s second-highest total in Division I, behind Kevin Murphy’s 50 for Tennessee Tech on Jan. 30.

The junior guard got 28 of his points in the second half for the Ospreys (15-15, 9-8), and his 11 3-pointers also were a school record and tied the conference mark. He made 13 of his 20 shots overall and was 9 of 9 from the free-throw line.

After the Bears (20-9, 12-4) cut a 14-point deficit to four, 59-55 with 5:11 left, Smith hit three 3-pointers in the next 2:46 as North Florida built its lead to 70-57.

Langston Hall scored 17 points to pace Mercer, which has lost its last two games after winning nine in a row.
