CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — Kannon Burrage scored 21 points, including a game-tying layup with 1.6 seconds left in regulation, as UTSA defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 86-82 in overtime Wednesday night.

Melvin Johnson and Igor Nujic added 20 points each for the Roadrunners (16-12, 8-5 Southland), who rallied from a six-point deficit in the final two minutes of regulation.

Terence Jones led Corpus Christi (5-22, 3-10) with 26 points, including seven 3-pointers.

In the overtime period, Burrage made two free throws and a layup, and Jeromie Hill had a three-point play that helped stake UTSA to an 84-79 lead with 38 seconds left.

A 3-pointer from Jones and two missed free throws by the Roadrunners gave Corpus Christi a chance to tie or take the lead. But Jones stepped out of bounds right in front of the Islanders’ bench with 9.9 seconds remaining, and Nujic followed with a layup to seal the win.
