WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — Devin Brown scored 24 points and Holy Cross crushed Army 82-51 Wednesday night, extending the Crusaders’ season-high winning streak to five games.
R.J. Evans added 13 points for the Crusaders (14-13, 8-5 Patriot League), who had 10 players score as they avenged a Jan. 25 loss at Army.
Holy Cross was in charge this time, opening on a 17-5 run in a game in which the Crusaders never trailed. They led by 19 points at the break and outscored the Black Knights 42-30 in the second half to seal it.
Holy Cross outshot Army 51.7 percent (30 of 58) to 30.4 percent (17 of 56) from the floor and outrebounded the Black Knights 39-34.
Josh Herbeck finished with 20 points to pace Army (12-16, 5-8), and Maxwell Lenox had 16. The Black Knights came in trying to win three straight games for the first time this season.
