STOCKHOLM (AP) — World-record holder Dayron Robles says he’s not surprised he lost to rival Liu Xiang in the hurdles at an indoor meet last week, promising a competive race in Stockholm on Thursday.
Liu won the 60-meter hurdles final in Birmingham on Saturday in 7.41 seconds, nearly a tenth of a second ahead of Robles. It was their first meeting since last year’s world championships.
Robles says Liu “prepared for that (race) and he feels very well.”
Robles says he expects to win every time he competes, adding he’s good friends with Liu off the track.
