WASHINGTON (AP) — Mike Muscala scored 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to help Bucknell pull away late in a 55-50 victory over American University on Thursday night.

The double-double was Muscala’s fourth straight against the Eagles as the Bison (21-8, 11-2 Patriot League) extended their winning streak over American (18-10, 9-4) to six games.

Bryson Johnson added 11 points for Bucknell, which snapped a two-game skid and edged closer to securing the regular-season conference title.

Lehigh, a game behind the Bison, visits Army to close the regular season, while Bucknell hosts Navy on Saturday.

Daniel Munoz scored 15 points for American, which fell to third place in the conference race when a win would’ve pulled the Eagles into a three-way tie for first.

Troy Brewer added 13 points for the Eagles, but leading scorer Charles Hinkle, who came in averaging 19.1 points per game, had a season-low three.
