Westbrook scores 35 in South Dakota’s 93-84 win

VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) — Charlie Westbrook scored 35 points, including a perfect 14 of 14 at the free-throw line, to lift South Dakota past IPFW 93-84 on Thursday night.

Louie Krogman also had a big night for South Dakota (10-17, 5-12 Summit League) with 20 points and six assists.

Trevor Gruis grabbed eight rebounds.

Frank Gaines scored 30 points and pulled down eight rebounds for IPFW (10-18, 4-13).

Trey McCorkle scored 18 points for IPFW and Joe Edwards had 10. Jonny Marlin had five assists.

South Dakota triumphed despite being outscored 42-30 in the paint and 21-10 off the bench. South Dakota had a 13-7 scoring advantage off turnovers.
