DORTMUND, Germany (AP) — Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund has announced revenue of $134.7 million for the six-month period ending in December, breaking $133 million for the first time.
Dortmund says revenue from July 1 to Dec. 31, 2011, is up more than $39.9 million compared to the same period in 2010.
Pretax profit rose to $22.2 million, up from $5.7 million.
Winning the Bundesliga title for the first time since 2002 season, Dortmund says strict financial control coupled with success on the field helped boost its finances.
The club flirted with bankruptcy in the seasons after its previous league success.
