DORTMUND, Germany (AP) — Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund has announced revenue of $134.7 million for the six-month period ending in December, breaking $133 million for the first time.

Dortmund says revenue is up more than $39.9 million compared to the first half of the year, and that pretax profit for the period from July 1 to Dec. 31, 2011, reached $22.2 million.

Profit in the first half of the year was $5.7 million.

Winning the Bundesliga title for the first time since 2002 season, Dortmund says strict financial control coupled with success on the field helped boost its finances.

The club flirted with bankruptcy in the seasons after its previous league success.
