Delaware defeats Northeastern 82-72

NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Devon Sadler scored 21 points Delaware closed out the regular season by beating Northeastern 82-72 on Saturday for its eighth win in a row.

The win gave Delaware (17-12, 12-6 Colonial Athletic Association), which split the season series with Northeastern, its most victories since the 2000-01season.

Jarvis Threatt added 17 points and Josh Brinkley had 12, while Jamelle Hagins had 13 points and 13 rebounds for his 14th double-double of the season.

The Blue Hens had their best shooting game of the season, making 54.2 percent (26 of 48) of their field goal attempts. Delaware also hit 24 of 31 from the line.

A 3-pointer by Threatt gave Delaware its biggest lead at 56-39 with 14:45 left. The Blue Hens led by at least eight the rest of the way.

Joel Smith scored 24 points to lead the Huskies (13-16, 9-9), while Jonathan Lee had 16 and Quincy Ford 11.
