LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Hamidu Rahman scored 22 points and Wendell McKines contributed 20 to pace New Mexico State in its 79-68 win against San Jose State on Saturday night.

Hernst Laroche scored 11 points and Daniel Mullings added 10 for New Mexico State (22-8, 9-3 WAC), which scored 10 unanswered points to begin the game and trailed only once for the remainder in a game where the final score was not an accurate reflection of the Aggies’ dominance. New Mexico State maximized its lead, 78-60, with 4:30 remaining and inserting reserves allowed San Jose State (9-19, 1-11) to close the deficit for the final margin.

The Aggies shot 49 percent from the field and out-rebounded the Spartans 45-34.

Wil Carter led San Jose State with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds.
