INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Justin Blackmon just wants to be himself.

Everybody else is trying to compare him to Calvin Johnson or Dez Bryant or even Terrell Owens.

The Oklahoma State receiver is ready to prove his value to NFL scouts before April’s draft even though he won’t be running at this week’s annual scouting combine.

In a draft class with many interesting possibilities, it’s Blackmon’s combination of size, speed and skill that has set him apart. He went into the combine ranked as the No. 1 prospect receiving, and doesn’t intend to give up that ranking before the draft.

Blackmon knows there are facets that need improvement and things he can do that will impress the scouts. He’s just going to wait to show the whole package until his pro day.
