GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Cameron Moore scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead Alabama-Birmingham over East Carolina 61-57 on Saturday.

The Blazers (13-14, 8-6 Conference USA) led by as many as 10 in the second half before East Carolina scored seven straight to make it a two point game, 59-57, with 2:08 left.

UAB turned it over twice in the final 2 minutes, but the Pirates missed four 3-pointers and turned it over just once themselves the rest of the way.

The Blazers scored 22 of their 32 points in the paint in the second half.

Purifoy finished with 15 points, and the Blazers shot 50 percent in the second half (13 of 26).

Shamarr Bowden led the Pirates (12-15, 3-11) with 27 points.
