PORT ORCHARD, Wash. (AP) — Five people have been injured in an explosion on a boat at the Port Orchard Yacht Club.

A Kitsap Fire and Rescue official tells KOMO News (http://is.gd/UvP67V ) that the boat, which sank on Sunday, had just been raised by salvage crews when its owner tried to hook up a bilge pump and a spark ignited nearby gas cans Monday afternoon.

Two of the victims had serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

The explosion caused minor damage to the boat house and nearby boats.

The Department of Ecology has been called to monitor cleanup of a minor gas and oil spills in the water.
