Reid, Montana State defeat Northern Arizona 79-60

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — Shawn Reid hit six 3-pointers and scored 23 points Monday night to help Montana State break an eight-game losing streak with a 79-60 victory over Northern Arizona.

Christian Moon added 15 points, Tre Johnson 14 and Mohamed Fall 10 for the Bobcats (12-16, 7-9), the sixth seeds in the Big Sky tournament who will play a quarterfinal Saturday at No. 3 Portland State.

Durrell Norman’s 17 points led the Lumberjacks (5-24, 1-15), who finished the season on a school-record 16-game losing streak. James Douglas scored 11, and Gaellan Bewernick and Gabe Rogers had 10 apiece.

Montana State held a shooting advantage of 50 percent to 39.6 percent, including 12 of 24 3-pointers.

Johnson began a 10-0 run with a basket that tied it at 19. Then Moon sank back-to-back 3-pointers and Rod Singleton scored for a 27-19 lead with 8:45 left in the first half, and the Bobcats cruised home.
