Brothers scores 30, Richmond beats Dayton 82-71

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Darien Brothers scored 30 points and Richmond defeated Dayton 82-71 on Wednesday night.

Kendall Anthony added 20 points for the Spiders (16-15, 7-9 Atlantic 10 Conference), who won their fourth straight over Dayton.

Richmond shot 46.6 percent from the field (27 of 58). Richmond shot just a shade better than the Flyers (18-11, 8-7), who hit 45.8 percent from the field (27 of 59) but scored more from the free-throw line.

The Spiders made 19 of 25 from the line, while Dayton was 9 of 11.

The Spiders led 60-58 and went on a 13-2 run to go up 73-60 on Francis-Cedric Martel’s dunk with 5:30 to play.

Chris Johnson led the Flyers with 22 points, going 5 of 9 from 3-point range. Kevin Dillard added 11 points for Dayton, which was allowing an average of 65.2 throughout its previous five games.
