GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) — The Cleveland Indians are preparing an update on injured outfielder Grady Sizemore and the news may not be good.

Manager Manny Acta said the team will provide information Thursday on Sizemore, who injured his lower back while fielding grounders a few weeks ago and is expected to miss opening day. It’s the latest setback for Sizemore, who missed most of last season with injuries and has played in just 104 games the past two seasons because of a variety of medical issues.

Acta would not divulge if the report on Sizemore will be positive or negative. Sizemore was not seen at the team’s training complex the past two days.

The 29-year-old batted .224 in only 71 games last season. A three-time All-Star, he played in at least 157 games from 2005-2008.
