Pedestrian struck and killed in Salem

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Police say the pedestrian who was struck and killed Wednesday night in Salem appears to be a transient.

The 43-year-old man wearing dark clothing was in the middle of the road when he was struck by a car driven by an 18-year-old. There was heavy rainfall at the time.
