ASHLAND, Ore. (AP) — The Oregon Department of Transportation says the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 are closed 11 miles north of the California border because of severe road conditions in that state.
The lanes were shut down early Wednesday, and the agency says there’s no estimated time for them to reopen.
Meanwhile, a 14-mile stretch of southbound I-5 remains closed at Canyonville because of severe weather at the Sexton, Smith and Stage passes. The Transportation Department estimates that closure will be in effect for several hours.
Motorists are advised to delay travel in the area and to monitor TripCheck.com for the latest highway conditions.
