TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Brian Baird is finding his way post-Congress. He’s spending some of his time back in Washington, D.C., coordinating lobbying at a Portland-based shipbuilder and government contractor.
The Olympian (http://is.gd/eEENpQ ) reports the six-term lawmaker for most of Thurston County has returned to the world of government and politics after a seven month stint as a stay-at-home dad to twin sons.
He’s taking a job coordinating lobbying at Vigor Industrial, the Portland-based shipbuilder and government contractor. The 55-year-old former Pacific Lutheran University professor doesn’t rule out running for office again.
But proposed new congressional district lines place his new home in Edmonds in a district with an incumbent Democrat and not the open 1st District or the newly created 10th.
