RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Pete Carroll says Seattle has solidified its future foundation quicker than expected.
Carroll held his season-ending news conference on Tuesday. Much of the focus was on the play of quarterback Tarvaris Jackson.
Carroll supported Jackson’s play, saying others around Jackson need to be better as well. Seattle is likely to add a quarterback in the offseason, either through the draft or free agency.
Carroll took ownership of Seattle’s late struggles in losses to Washington, San Francisco and Arizona, saying it was an area that was being addressed for next year
Carroll also announced that wide receiver Sidney Rice had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder and cornerback Richard Sherman will need his knee scoped.
