VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — A historic preservation grant is expected to bring some polish back to the Clark County’s courthouse.

The Columbian (http://is.gd/WQNlEx ) reports the brass-trimmed front doors at the 1940 courthouse is going to be restored, along with other brass fixtures. But first the county has to come up with some dollars to match the $33,000 grant from the state Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation.

The preservation work may also include tearing up some carpet and restoring the original terrazzo floors underneath.
