BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Sabres are suddenly getting healthier with defenseman Tyler Myers and forward Ville Leino anticipating they’ll both be ready to return by this weekend.

Tests showed Myers’ broken right wrist is fully healed and the player expects he could play as early as Friday at Carolina. Myers has missed 19 games.

Leino might not be far behind. He said after practice Wednesday that he could be back as early as Saturday, when the Sabres host Winnipeg. Leino’s missed nine games with a broken left foot.

That’s good news for a team that’s missed as many as nine regulars to injuries this season.

The injuries have contributed to a monthlong skid in which the Sabres have gone 6-10-4 in their past 20, including a 4-3 win over Edmonton on Tuesday.
