NEW YORK (AP) — Amare Stoudemire is in the starting lineup for the New York Knicks against Charlotte, and reserve guard Iman Shumpert is also available after returning quicker than expected from a knee injury.
Stoudemire missed two games after spraining his left ankle during a loss to the Lakers. Shumpert had been expected to miss two to four weeks after spraining a left knee ligament in the season opener on Christmas.
Coach Mike D’Antoni said he wasn’t aware of any restrictions on their minutes in Wednesday’s game.
The Knicks need the offensive help, averaging just 93 points during a 2-3 start.
