Washington GOP members prefer Romney

Straw poll shows state Republicans' preference

Bellevue, WA – The Washington State Republican Party conducted a Straw Poll for the 2012 Presidential Nomination as part of the year-end email survey. The following results were collected between December 22 – 31.

Candidate Percentage

Mitt Romney 27.49%

Newt Gingrich 25.77%

Ron Paul 18.43%

Rick Santorum 11.31%

Michele Bachmann 8.76%

Rick Perry 5.47%

Jon Huntsman 2.77%

WSRP Chairman Kirby Wilbur responded to the poll results, “Our straw poll results are not all that different from other statewide or national polls. We’ll see how Iowa turns out tonight.”
