LYNDEN, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Patrol says two people were killed Wednesday evening in a crash near Lynden.

Troopers say 65-year-old Harvey Valnes of Lynden was driving the car that crossed the centerline at a high rate of speed and collided with an oncoming car. A passenger in his car, 36-year-old Shannon Valnes of Lynden, also died at the scene.

KGMI (http://is.gd/OTvuif ) reports the driver of the other car suffered only minor injuries.
