Charleston Southern pulls away from Campbell 91-73

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Kelvin Martin scored 23 points to lead Charleston Southern past Campbell 91-73 on Thursday night.

Martin knocked down 10 of 12 shots from the field and led four players in double figures.

Jeremy Sexton scored 15 points, Mathiang Muo added 14 and Sheldon Strickland chipped in with 10 for the Buccaneers.

Charleston Southern took a narrow 43-39 lead into halftime but quickly pushed the lead to 10, 51-41, early in the second half behind a Martin layup.

Campbell (9-7, 3-1 Big South Conference) cut the lead to five, 51-46, but the Buccaneers used to 28-13 run to take a 79-59 lead with 8:01 left to play.

Charleston Southern (10-5, 3-1) shot 50 percent (31 of 62) from the field and hit 46.4 percent (13 of 28) from 3-point range.

Eric Griffin led Campbell with 23 points, but the Camels struggled from 3-point range, shooting only 13.3 percent (2 of 15).
