DeKALB, Ill. (AP) — Northern Illinois takes an eight-game winning streak into the GoDaddy.com Bowl this weekend against Arkansas State in Mobile, Ala.

The Huskies have a rookie head coach in Dave Doeren, who has led the team to a 10-3 record and the Mid-American Conference championship.

The former Wisconsin defensive coordinator was able to put together a respectable defense. He also has an explosive offense led by senior quarterback Chandler Harnish that averages 482 yards per game.

Arkansas State went 10-2 this season. Interim coach David Gunn will lead the team Sunday, though ASU has hired Guz Malzahn as its new head coach.
