PASCO, Wash. (AP) — Salvador Campos was brutally brought into the world in 2008 when his pregnant mother was attacked at a Kennewick park and he was cut from the womb.

His mother died but he survived and is being raised by his father in Pasco.

KNDO reports (http://is.gd/5Mg12h) Salvador is a happy, spunky 3-year-old with long hair. He receives therapy for mental and developmental disabilities because he was deprived of oxygen during his birth.

The father, Juan Campos, is raising Salvador and two other children on his own. He says the community has been supportive by sending clothes and checking on the children.

The woman convicted of aggravated murder for the attack, Phiengchai Sisouvanh Synhavong (PEE’-en-chay SIS’-oo-vahn SIN’-ha-vahng), is serving a life sentence.
