ALTENBERG, Germany (AP) — Defending champion Anja Huber of Germany claimed her first skeleton World Cup win of the season Saturday to clinch her fourth European title.
The 28-year-old Huber was leading when the first run was canceled due to heavy snowfall, but she completed the second in 59.87 seconds to claim the event.
Katharina Heinz of Germany was 0.1 second behind, with Britain’s Shelley Rudman third, 0.12 seconds back. Katie Uhlaender was the top American in sixth, finishing in 1 minute, 0.34 seconds.
Mellisa Hollingsworth of Canada, who finished fifth, still leads the overall standings after four events.
