LONDON (AP) — English golfer Paul Casey has dislocated his right shoulder on a snowboarding holiday and will be sidelined for the first two months of 2012.

The 20th-ranked Casey will miss the European Tour’s entire Middle East swing. That includes the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, which he has won twice in the past five years.

Casey says he is “very frustrated” and was “really looking forward to getting off to a fast start in 2012.”

The layoff will hurt his chances of making Europe’s Ryder Cup team for the matches in Medinah, Ill., in September. He failed to qualify for the team in 2010 before being snubbed for a wild card by captain Colin Montgomerie despite being ranked in the top 10.
