POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Will Cherry scored 15 points to lead five players in double figures as Montana defeated Idaho State 68-44 on Saturday night.
Kareem Jamar added 12 points, Derek Selvig and Mathias Ward 11 apiece and Art Steward 10 for the Grizzlies (10-5, 3-0 Big Sky).
Selvig scored six of his points when Montana opened the game with a 12-2 run. The Grizzlies capitalized on 18 first-half turnovers by Idaho State (3-12, 1-3) en route to a 36-18 lead at intermission.
Melvin Morgan led the Bengals with 15 points, and Chase Grabau added 14.
Idaho State made one brief run, opening the second half with an 8-2 surge to get within 38-26 before Montana pulled away again.
The Grizzlies shot 60 percent from the field to Idaho State’s 37 percent.
