East Tennessee State beats Mercer 76-61

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) — Adam Sollazzo scored 23 points and Marcus Dubose added 21 to help East Tennessee State take down Mercer 76-61 on Saturday.

Mercer (11-7, 3-2 Atlantic Sun Conference) pulled within two, 9-7, before Dubose hit a 3-pointer to spark a 20-9 run and give the Bucs a 29-16 lead.

The Bucs (7-7, 2-2) never led by less than 14 from then on.

Sollazzo, who has scored in double-figures in nine of his last 10 games, shot 7 of 12 from the field and made all eight of his free throw attempts.

Dubose was 7 of 11 from the field, including two 3-pointers, and sank five free throws.

East Tennessee State shot 64.3 percent (18 of 28) from the field in the first half, leading to a 49-30 halftime lead, and tallied 15 steals in the win.

Tommy Hubbard recorded five steals while Dubose, Sollazzo and Sheldon Cooley all had 3 apiece.
