Morrison, Oral Roberts top South Dakota St. 97-75

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Dominique Morrison’s career-high 38 points led Oral Roberts to a 97-75 victory over South Dakota State on Saturday night and into sole possession of first place in the Summit League.

Morrison eclipsed his previous high of 35 by hitting 11 baskets, including five 3-pointers, and all 11 free throws as the Golden Eagles (14-4, 6-0) extended their winning streak to seven. He scored 21 points in the first half.

Steven Roundtree scored 17 points and Warren Niles and Michael Craion 15 each for Oral Roberts.

Nate Wolters’ 22 points led the Jackrabbits (13-5, 5-1), whose four-game winning streak ended. Tony Fiegen added 11, and Griffan Callahan, Jordan Dykstra and Chad White had 10 apiece.

The Jackrabbits shot 56 percent (30 of 54) but were outdone by Oral Roberts’ 61 percent (37 of 61). The Golden Eagles also held a 31-21 edge on the boards and committed just six turnovers.
