HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) — Kannon Burrage scored with 1.9 seconds remaining to lift UTSA past Sam Houston State 62-60 on Sunday.
Burrage, who scored 17 points, scored the tying basket with just under a minute remaining. The Roadrunners (9-6, 2-0 Southland) rallied from a 59-52 deficit with a 10-1 run. Michael Hale III scored 13 points and Jeromie Hill added 10 points for UTSA, which shot 56 percent from the field.
Konner Tucker scored 19 points, including five 3-pointers, and was the only player in double figures for Sam Houston State (6-9, 0-1).
The game was originally scheduled for Saturday but was pushed back a day because of Sam Houston State’s participation in Saturday’s FCS championship game. The Bearkats lost to North Dakota State 17-6 in Frisco, Texas.
