DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Duke says sophomore guard Chloe Wells will miss the rest of the season and will not enroll in school for the spring semester because of a violation of an undisclosed university policy.

Coach Joanne P. McCallie made the announcement Tuesday.

Wells averaged 10.4 points, four assists and three steals while scoring in double figures in eight of the 10 games she played, starting all 10.

Before a win at Temple on Dec. 30, team officials said Wells would be out indefinitely while she resolved an academic matter.

McCallie says she looks forward to Wells returning to full eligibility for next season.
