Green leads Stetson over North Florida 68-64

DELAND, Fla. (AP) — Willie Green scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Stetson held off North Florida 68-64 on Monday.

Stetson (7-9, 4-2 Atlantic Sun Conference) led 65-59 with 2:09 left, before North Florida got a layup by Matt Sauey and a 3-pointer by Parker Smith to make it a one-point game with 36 seconds to play.

After Aaron Graham missed a free throw that would have put Stetson up by two, Sauey turned it over, giving the ball back to the Hatters. Stetson’s Joel Naburgs made both his foul shots to make it a three-point game with 14 seconds left.

Jimmy Williams then missed a 3-pointer for the Ospreys with 5 seconds to go.

Stetson shot 47.3 percent from the field (26 of 55), while North Florida was just 4 of 12 from the free-throw line.

The Ospreys (9-9, 4-2) were led by Jerron Granberry’s 17 points and Travis Wallace’s 16.
