Man hits deer and found with 23 pounds of pot

SUTHERLIN, Ore. (AP) — A Washington man is in custody after an Oregon State Patrol trooper watched him hit a deer near Sutherlin, Ore., and keep driving for seven miles.

At the stop on Monday night, the trooper found 23 pounds of marijuana in the man’s car.

Now, 26-year-old Christopher Goheen of Olympia, Wash., faces charges of unlawful possession and delivery of a controlled substance.

The marijuana was valued at $57,000.
