Women’s WCup races moved from Maribor

OBERHOFEN, Switzerland (AP) — The International Ski Federation says women’s World Cup races scheduled for Jan. 21-22 in Maribor, Slovenia, have been moved because of warm temperatures and too little snow.

FIS says the giant slalom and slalom races will be staged at another Slovenian venue, Kranjska Gora, on the same dates.

Maribor was unable to stage the races one year ago, when temperatures rose to 55 degrees.

A giant slalom was abandoned after 25 racers completed the slushy course, and the following day’s slalom was canceled.

The women last raced in Kranjska Gora in 2007, though it is a regular stop on the men’s circuit.
