Band class offers chance to play, maybe march

A six-session music class offered through Clark College will provide a chance to eventually perform with a community band.

The class — Beginning Community Band — is offered through Clark College’s corporate and continuing education program.

The class fee is $29.The goal is to get musicians ready to join the Vancouver Community Concert Band and/or the Vancouver Community Marching Band.

The class is for beginners, people who have never played a band instrument or those who want to redevelop their playing skills.

Classes will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Jan. 17 through Feb. 21, at Friends of the Carpenter, 1600 W. 20th St.
