NEW YORK (AP) — Brazil will play an exhibition game against the United States on May 30 or 31 at Landover, Md., or Foxborough, Mass.
The game was announced Thursday by Brazilian soccer’s governing body. It will be part of a three-game U.S. trip for Brazil, which also will play Mexico on June 3 at Arlington, Texas, and Argentina on June 9 at East Rutherford, N.J.
The Americans are preparing for their opening World Cup qualifiers, at home against Antigua and Barbuda on June 8 and at Guatemala four days later. They start the year against Venezuela on Jan. 21 at Glendale, Ariz., then play at Panama four days later and at Italy on Feb. 29.
Brazil defeated the Americans 2-0 on goals by Neymar and Alexandre Pato in their last meeting — at the Meadowlands in August 2010.
