DENVER (AP) — Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson will not play Wednesday night against New Jersey because of a strained right foot.

Andre Miller will start in his place.

Lawson was injured late in the first half of Denver’s loss to New Orleans on Monday night. He played the second half but sat out practice Tuesday.

Nuggets coach George Karl said the 6-foot-7 Julyan Stone, recalled from the NBA Developmental League on Tuesday, could play some point guard, as could guard/forward Rudy Fernandez.

Lawson is second on the team in scoring at 16.4 points a game, and leads the Nuggets with 6.0 assists per contest.
