SEATTLE (AP) — Washington Transportation Department officials warn drivers to expect congestion this weekend on Interstate 5, Interstate 90 and Interstate 405 as construction crews close much of State Highway 520, including the floating bridge across Lake Washington.
The closure extends from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Officials note that weekday toll rates will apply on Monday although it is Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Crews will be moving in more than two million pounds of concrete girders for new lidded overpasses above the highway.
